I bought this CD looking for Christian music for a lyrical dance group at my church and instantly fell in love with the whole CD. The melody and hormony of Todd and Nicole's voices blend so powerfully that it that even an a capella song sounds like an entire orchestra! Allan Hall plays the piano on this CD like no one else. I have listened to many types of music and this CD is played more than any other in my home because of the variety of songs and moods that they create with their music. I would recommend this CD to anyone even if they are not after "christian music".
What an awesome interpretation from our generation... April 3, 2000
Growing up in a small church well versed in old hymns, the words never held much meaning for me. Selah's vocals and awesome pianist really let the emotion and meaning of these songs shine through! Thank God for this gifted group.
Be Still March 22, 2000
Although Be Still is the most recognizable tract on this CD, all the pieces are particularly soul-stirring. The harmonic blend of voices coupled with excellent arrangements of age-old hymns make this CD a must for any collector of any age.

I bought this cd a year ago and have listened to it more than any other cd since. Hearing their FABULOUS, POWERFUL voices mixed with awesome words of age-old hymns is as uplifting and soul-nourishing as Handel's Messiah. Younger people who may not have liked the "churchy-sounding" hymns of old will wear out their repeat buttons on these versions. These songs are sung with a singular compelling voice, non-opera-like, and will open eyes everywhere to the breathtaking messages in these lyrics. You'll not be unmoved to your marrow. This cd is a feast for any spiritual soul.

I agree with the excellent reviews. I'm sure I was one of the first to buy this CD...after I heard "Be Still" on the radio. I would love to see Selah in concert...Santa Rosa, CA area and hope they make more CDS. They are wonderful!
