Uplifting and Inspiring July 5, 2007

Selah's final album with vocalist Nicol Sponberg is both inspiring and uplifting. I've listened to it so much, my family knows all the words. I've also bought several copies for friends. The voices of the brother sister team blend so beautifully, it is a shame that Nicol will be moving on. The new singer does not have the same soulful style; so enjoy this album and hope Nicol will be back for an encore.

I went through a tough time with health, and I was pretty discouraged. As I prayed each morning, I found myself turning on this CD and learning all the words to each song. Day after day for months, I listened to it and sang along. The lyrics speak of reverence for God, trust in Him, hope, joy, salvation. God used this CD to minister to me during this time, and I am going to give it to others. Thanks, Selah, for using your fabulous singing gifts for God's glory!

I had no other Selah music when I purchased this "Hiding Place" CD, and I was very impressed when I first listened to it. I own many Christian music CDs and I would rate this CD in the top 2 or 3 of all the CDs I own. The vocals are beautiful and the accompanying music is also beautiful. The CD contains some neat original music and fantastic arrangements of old favorites like "I Need Thee Every Hour". "You Raise Me Up" and "You Are My Hiding Place" are wonderful. I would recommend this CD to anyone who is even remotely interested in Christian music!

First: I am relatively new to Christian music, so I am not as experienced as others with this type of music-but I found this music to be very beautiful, soothing and inspirational and I would recommend it highly. I never even heard of "Selah" before I listened to this on a "Listening Party" and then I Had to get this CD. This CD is really Excellent! The lyrics range from serene and introspective to very lively and praise filled. Any way you look at it-These musicians have something to say, and they say it well. Whether you like every song or not, none are "filler"-they all have meaning, which is rare.
The rich, beautiful voices of the singers in the group known as "Selah" meld together to create an album that touches the soul and makes your spirit feel lighter and the heart feel better. This would make a lovely gift for oneself, or as a gift to anyone who appreciates fine quality up lifting music. They have a very special, sort of "off the beaten path" sound that is extremely compelling to listen to.
I feel that Selah's "Hiding Place" is a blessing to anyone who is interested and takes the time to listen to it. Their version of "You Raise Me Up" is IMHO-The Best One I've Ever Heard. I really enjoyed this whole CD, but a few favorites include: "I Need Thee Every Hour", "I Bless Your Name", "Before The Throne of God Above" and "Hiding Place"- but You'll probably find the ones that touch You the most. This CD has Plenty of songs to raise people up :-) and soothe their spirits. Excellent songs that really touch, bring peace and uplift. Thank you "Selah" and God bless you (and whoever helps you) for creating this beautiful CD. Good Stuff :-)
